This was one of my first books for Mentor Press. It’s about an embarrassing mum (like me)! Mum’s don’t mean to, but sometimes they make you cringe by wearing something awful or saying something naff. Making Benj wince once was what set this book going.
In the story, Colin is hideously embarrassed by his mum, who wears strange outfits and is always happy and jolly, usually too loudly. So when Mum volunteers to come and help on a class outing to a pet farm, Colin wants to crawl away and hide. However, Mum’s baggy red carid and Doc Marten’s save the day.
Just a fun, happy story for kids with wonderful illustrations by the talented Kim Shaw.
